Castings

Castings are typically produced in bulk, as a more cost effective alternative to machining from a solid block of metal.  Depending on the casting technique adopted, different wall thicknesses, surface finishes and dimensional accuracies can be achieved but the closer the casting are to the required dimensions and roughness, the less machining is needed after manufacture.  And by analysing the measurement datasets, damage and distortion to the moulds and patterns can be identified and rectified promptly.
